In the 1960s, the brand released its first golf collection, which quickly became a hit with athletes due to its great fit and smart design. The company's sense of fashion wasn't just evident in golf: with the golden eagle on its chest, it influenced generations of British fashion and subcultures. The quality of its products is also appreciated by the British royal family, and in 1975, Lyle and Scott was awarded the Duke of Edinburgh's Royal Warrant, which the company still wears on the neck of its knitwear made from Scottish wool.
